Bad things do happen to good people.
For many years, I questioned my worth. I figured that I had to have done something wrong to deserve growing up without my parents In fact, I believed that whenever something bad happened to a person it had to be their fault. Guess what? I was wrong. Bad things happen to get our attention, teach us a lesson, and to draw us closer to our Heavenly Father. Therefore, stop beating yourself up for bad things that have happened to you and your children. And forgive people who have hurt you. The pain that they inflicted on you was necessary to reveal your strength or to mold you into the strong woman or man that you are today. When bad things happen to your adult children, do not be so quick to think that it is a bad reflection of you instead consider it as an opportunity for your child to develop their own testimony, which would give them a reason to establish their own relationship with the Lord. Truth be told, bad things have happened to all of us and will continue to happen, because that is how life works. How you respond to the bad situations is a personal choice. Either you choose to view a bad situation from a positive perspective and find a way to grow from it, or view it from a negative perspective and cause yourself to suffer with anger, guilt, and shame. If you agree with me, please make sure that you explain this to your children so that they won’t lose hope when bad things happen to them and you (most children take it personal when something bad happens to their parents).
