Face Your Fears

For many years, I lived in fear. I was afraid of becoming a bad parent, I was afraid of not having enough money, I was afraid to accept certain positions, and the list goes on. Fear is paralyzing, and it is a distraction. More importantly, we were designed to operate in love not fear. In fact, I believe the most successful people are those who face their fears. There are so many people living with regret, because they were afraid to explore certain opportunities. What is fear holding you back from? You can do anything that you set your mind to do, but you have to believe that with all of your heart. If negative thoughts try to attack your mind, immediately start thinking of the things and people in your life that you are grateful for and what you have overcome over the years. You are IMPORTANT. If you wasn’t, you would not still be here. In fact, you are an answer to a problem that only you can solve. Maybe you are supposed to be the first or only person in your family to earn a GED, purchase a home, fight cancer, stop using drugs or alcohol, be faithful to one man or one woman, raise a child alone, own your own business, or love like you have never been hurt. There is someone who is afraid to go back to school, and you are the answer to that person’s problem. After you go back to school and finish, you can encourage them. There are young men and women out here who are so afraid of failing as parents, because their parents failed them. Some don’t believe that it is possible to become more than what they saw growing up. Make them believers by becoming an example of someone who faced the odds and won.

Sometimes we have to fail forward. If your new business fails, start another one. If you have mismanaged your money in the past, become more disciplined in that area. If you are on bad terms with someone you love, try to repair that relationship. When you are hurt, keep your heart open and mind and ears clear of negativity. Keep trying until you achieve your goals. And don’t allow fear to prevent you from winning in all areas of your life.
