Love
It is very easy to become so consumed with helping others that you forget about yourself. As a single mother, my mind was programmed to always think ahead. I had to stay on top of what was needed in my home, what my son needed for school, keeping up with medical appointments for my immediate family, being there for family and friends, etc. Even though I was keeping everyone else on track, I was physically exhausted. I quickly learned that it is okay to say “no” and to set aside time to love on yourself. Because time is going by so quickly, it is imperative to keep a bucket list. Include everything that you ever desired to do in life, and set goals to achieve those things. You only live once, so you might as well step out of your comfort zone and do things that bring you joy as an expression of love for yourself.
