Patience

I am so glad that the Lord had enough patience to wait on me to acknowledge and appreciate Him. I am so thankful that He never gave up on me when I gave Him a million reasons to walk away from me while I made the same silly mistakes over and over again. I am also extremely grateful that He did not give me every person and thing that I asked Him to place in my life. It is so encouraging to know that when I make mistakes in the future, He will remain patient. Now, the challenge is learning how to exercise that same patience with others. One of the bad habits that I learned was to become a lawyer when I made mistakes and a judge when others made mistakes. However, I have leaned that the only person that I need to judge is myself if I want to continue to mature and become a better person. I also need to offer the same love and patience to others that the Lord constantly offers me.

This older man told me that when children are young, they get on their parents’ nerves. And children stay on their parents’ minds when they get older. I absolutely agree with him. I believe one of the best ways to stay connected to our children in a positive way is by exercising patience especially when they do not listen to us and insist on learning life lessons the hard way. It is not always easy to do that, but I believe that there is power in exercising patience.💕
